We recently purchased a home in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. We had been renting in Destin, since we moved here from Alabama a few years ago. We knew that it didn’t make sense to continue to rent and we decided to place an offer on the house we had been renting.
Fortunately, we knew Bill and Virlie performed Home Inspections. We asked Bill and his team to inspect the house that we had been renting to see if we would have significant repair issues if we bought it.
I accompanied them during the inspection, and it revealed several defects that would have been very expensive to repair. The present owner was neither willing to fix anything nor to negotiate price, so we decided, based on that inspection, that we would search elsewhere for a home to buy.
Then, we contracted with Bill again to inspect the other home that we wanted to buy. Even though this one was a much newer home, Bill and his team uncovered several serious safety and function defects that needed correcting. His report allowed us to have these defects repaired prior to closing on the home.
