LETTER OF INTRODUCTION

Dear Future Client:

I am currently a Certified Professional, Licensed Home Inspector in the State of Florida. Originally from Georgia, I have been a homeowner in Destin for the past eight years. My wife and I moved here to be near daughters & grandchildren and we are proud to consider ourselves Floridians.

We began our careers as Radiologic Technologists, receiving our training in a major medical center in Georgia. Later, as Chief Technologist, I was responsible for image quality control, personnel management, and for proper calibration of our imaging equipment. After working many years there, to meet the needs of a newly developing in-office need for X-Ray equipment, we began a Medical X-Ray Equipment & Supply Company. We sold and installed medical X-ray equipment, film developers, protective equipment, film, chemicals, and various supplies used in the Radiology field. In this capacity, we worked closely with contractors and Architects in room design, providing specifications for the installation of our equipment and for environmental safety. Through this process, we became very familiar with electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.

When we sold that company, I returned to college and received a bachelor’s degree in Health Science (BHS) with a major in Healthcare Administration. After graduation, I worked for General Electric Healthcare Systems as a Technical Account Manager for imaging equipment installed in hospitals in Georgia and coastal South Carolina. Later, also with GE, I sold CT scanners, MRI units, Ultrasound systems, & Nuclear Medicine equipment,

Later, I returned to working in Hospital Administration as a Quality Improvement Officer, Risk Manager, Director of Ancillary Services, etc.

After a lengthy internship, I received my license as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. The Administrator in a Skilled Nursing Facility is responsible for EVERYTHING! Resident and Staff safety and quality of care are paramount. Here, charged with the responsibility to maintain a safe building, I was involved with State & Federal inspections and the State Fire Marshall; all of whom oversaw the safety and care provided in our facility. I became very knowledgeable about the Environment of Care and the building requirements needed to meet regulations.

After several years as an Administrator, I was promoted to a System-Level position in our parent major medical system. There I served as the System Director of Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance. In that role, I was responsible for the Joint Commission (JCAHO) Accreditation and compliance with all federal/state regulations for all four hospitals and all outlying services in the organization. Again, I was deeply involved in building safety requirements as well as quality of patient care and procedures.

Quality control and its inherent attention to detail have characterized my entire career.

After retiring from Health care and moving to Florida, I enrolled in a 120-hour pre-licensing course with International Certification Associates (ICA) to work toward my Home Inspector license. While still studying for the license, my wife and I, applying the skills that we had learned through our business/professional experiences, and from remodeling our personal rental units, worked as Rental-Property Handymen for three years here in Destin. As we now work as an inspection team, we feel that the maintenance experience gained greatly enhanced our ability to spot defects in condos & homes.

No matter what your specialized building trade may be, you are not adequately trained to be a Home Inspector until you have had that specific training to see defects in all building systems and adequately report them.

After receiving my Florida license, I worked through the rigorous requirements to become a “Certified Professional Inspector” (CPI). This certification is managed by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI); a highly respected organization that offers quality continuing education classes and sets the standards by which Home Inspectors operate. I have also recently become an aspiring member of the Florida Association of Building Inspectors (FABI), and I have taken in-person courses offered by them.

Holding several different licenses in various States requires a lot of vetting and background checks. Working in Health Care requires meeting even more stringent requirements, such as: a clean background, clean drug screens, and qualified recommendations from peers. I have always met these requirements, and I have a long history of unquestioned integrity. Licenses & certifications held over time: CPHQ, LNHA, LHRM, HACP, RT(R), (QM), BHS, LHI, CPI. I was also honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps Reserve & the Georgia Air National Guard.

I will always provide honest, high-quality services to my customers. As Home Inspectors who are members of InterNACHI, we must take an oath to always be ethical and to present a thorough report that truly represents the properties that we inspect. Our inspections are limited visual inspections that address “Safety & Function.”

Whether you are buying or selling a property, a home inspection will help you understand any issues with the property that may need to be addressed.

We look forward to serving you!

Sincerely,

Bill B. Wilson
